The Kiwanis Club of Greater Vernon County is excited to announce the launch of their new "Building Connections Through LEGO" Play Collection. This amazing collection was made possible through a generous $1,000 grant from the Missouri-Arkansas District Kiwanis Foundation's Earl Collins Foundation Service Leadership Program.
The collection will be administered by On My Own, Inc. and is designed to bring people of all ages together through creative, hands-on experiences.
These LEGO and DUPLO resources will support: 🧱 Family engagement events 🧱 Parent support group activities 🧱 Inclusive programming for children of all abilities 🧱 School and youth organization events 🧱 Community clubs and nonprofit programs 🧱 Senior activities that promote creativity, dexterity, and social connection
Community organizations throughout Vernon County are encouraged to borrow the collection to host their own LEGO-building events that inspire imagination, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
This project reflects Kiwanis' commitment to improving the lives of children and families by creating opportunities for learning, inclusion, and meaningful connections—one brick at a time.

Our volunteers—and some wonderful friends and family members—helped staff the ticket booth and concession stand, making the event a smooth and enjoyable experience so family and friends of the stars could enjoy the show or take a much needed break. We ended up having seven people work the full shift at the Pop Shack Friday night during the Vernon County Youth Fair.
Our volunteers went above and beyond. They truly stepped up, and I am so incredibly thankful for each of them. They exceeded every expectation I had, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group. 😆
A special thank-you to Kelsey and Kermit for making sure we had all the supplies we needed and for taking the time to walk me through everything when we arrived.
I also want to recognize Joe Wilson, who jumped right in and even purchased 100 servings of ice cream and popsicles when the ice cream machine couldn’t keep up with the demand. His generosity and willingness to help made a huge difference.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Vernon County is excited to share an additional school that we were able to donate books to for our current literacy project with our community! Through the Eye of the Tiger E-Club with Kiwanis International, our new club was honored to receive a collection of books—and even more excited to place them into the hands of students in the Bronaugh School District! Supporting youth literacy and fostering a love of reading is at the heart of Kiwanis service, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in all classrooms in Vernon county.
